Number 3 brings us our final new team entry into the Spring 2014 Mill Creek Park Willfeball Tournament, the Iron Pigs. While this may be a new team, we still know plenty about its players. Joe Reed and Steve Casavant have joined together to create what should be a force. Reed, who played just 3 games during the Solix Wiffle Ball League's 2013 season, has not provided us with too many statistics with just 1 RBI and 1 strikeout in the 3 games. Obvisouly, those numbers don't tell the entire story. Joe is a power hitter through and through, leave one floating over the plate at your own risk. Reed's defense will be top notch as he
possesses cat like reflexes an an uncanny ability to make the clutch grab. His pitching though, may be his achilles heel. Even with Joe's ability, its his teammate, Steve Casavant that is going to have to be the go to guy if the Pigs are going to make a run. Casavant has shown a high level aptitude in all aspects of the game. He is a 2 year veteran of the SWBL as well as a Fall 2013 Mill Creek Park Tournament runner-up. Caz will chip in the occasional long ball and can be clutch with a timely base hit. On the mound, however, he is at his best. Mixing it up with an arsenal of pitches not seen in many other players. He knows how to locate his pitches very well and depends largely on changes of speed as well as changes in his delivery to keep the batter guessing. *The Spring 2012 Mill Creek Park Wiffleball Tournament takes place on Saturday April 26th with first pitches at 9am. The event will run all day until the champion is crowned.*
